Camden/Rockport, Maine - Families and children are invited to take a walk under the full moon at Merryspring Nature Center at 7:00 pm on Monday, October 29.
AmeriCorps environmental educator Brett Willard will guide participants under the Hunter's Moon to discover what happens at Merryspring after dark. The group will look (and listen) for evidence of nocturnal animals, check out fall constellations, and view the full moon with a telescope. Guests may bring flashlights, but they are not required. At one point during the walk, flashlights will be turned off, allowing eyes and ears to fully adjust to the nighttime.
Participants are advised to wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. This event is free to all. The full moon walk will be cancelled in case of bad weather. For more information, contact Merryspring at 236-2239 or info@merryspring.org.
Merryspring is a member-supported, non-profit nature education center and park located at the end of Conway Road just off Rt. 1 by the Hannaford shopping plaza in Camden. For more information, contact Merryspring at 236-2239 or info@merryspring.org.
