Owls Head, Maine - At approximately 9:00 a.m. this morning, Knox County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a single vehicle crash on Ingraham’s Hill (Rt. 73) in Owls Head. The vehicle operated by Jon Thompson, 72, of Owls Head was travelling north and by witness accounts slowly veered off the road. Thompson struck a fire hydrant and telephone pole before flipping the car onto its’ side back into the road. At this time, it is believed to have been a medical issue with Mr. Thompson. He was transported to Penobscot Bay Medical Center by Thomaston Ambulance then transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor by Life Flight.
Owls Head Fire, Rockland Fire and EMS, Thomaston Ambulance Service and Rockland Police assisted at the scene.
