Rockland, Maine - A special one-night-only screening of HELL TOWN, the new award-winning soap-opera/horror film by co-directors Steve Balderson (Firecracker) and Elizabeth Spear (Roundball) will be presented by the Strand Theatre, 345 Main Street, on Thursday, July 16, at 7pm.
HELL TOWN follows the melodramatic antics of high school seniors clashing over love, sex, and betrayal. The “Letter Jacket Killer” is killing students in a variety of sadistic ways, and as the body count rises, it becomes clear that one of the main characters is the killer; everyone from the Prom Queen, to the Shirtless Jock and the Nosey Geek are suspected. Meanwhile, with Mother Manly in a coma, siblings Jesse, Blaze, Butch and Chanel are left to fend for themselves against an evil nurse (played by punk rock star Pleasant Gehman). Across town, the Gables’ problems intensify as Trish, Laura, Bobby and BJ fight for the family fortune. Laura finally confesses her love obsession for Butch, and the rivalry between Chanel and Trish escalates to volcanic proportions.
The directors will be at the screening to present the film and then host a Q&A afterwards that will include members of the cast and local cinematographer Daniel Stephens. An after-party will follow at Fog Bar in Rockland.
The film is not rated. Tickets: $8.50/Adults, $7.50/Seniors. For more information about this event and all upcoming live concerts, films, HD broadcasts, and events at the Strand, visit www.rocklandstrand.com. Tel: (207) 594-0070 EX 3 Email: info@rocklandstrand.com
