Camden Public Library Events June 18 through July 2

Thursday, June 18

Slide talk on Nepal, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, with Joe Niemczura, who has just returned from Nepal to talk about his two books, his experiences as a nurse, and about the earthquake in Nepal. Niemczura has made seven trips to Nepal since 2007 to offer training in the medical field there.


Tuesday, June 23

Leer y charlar Spanish language discussion group, all who are fluent in Spanish are welcome, 1:00 pm at the Camden Public Library.

An evening with Camden author Paul Doiron, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Doiron’s newest novel, “The Precipice,” is part of a best-selling series featuring Maine game warden Mike Bowditch.


Friday, June 26

Free Walking Tours resume for the summer, every Friday at 4:00 pm, starting at the Camden Public Library. The Library and the Camden Downtown Business Group host the free walking tours. Reservations are encouraged; please call the library at 236-3440 or stop by the Circulation Desk.


Tuesday, June 30

Author and artist David Estey of Belfast presents his humorous memoir, “Whoop and Drive ’er! Growing Up in Aroostook County, Maine,” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. All are welcome.


Thursday, July 2

Opening reception for artist Kendra Denny, 6:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Denny creates textured and colorful local scenes with encaustics; her paintings will be on display at the library throughout the month of July.
