Clarity Retrospective Opening Reception December 8

Clarity is a two-person art team of Robert and Su.Sane Hake, who will return with another dazzling exhibit during the month of December in the Picker Room at the Camden Public Library. “Temper Tantrum, A 20/20 Vision,” is “a show to heal our time.” The show is a retrospective display of the team’s work, gathering together thirty years of collaborative work, and creating a “pattern tapestry of transmutation for our time.” Join artists Robert and Su.Sane Hake for a gala opening reception in the Jean Picker Room Gallery on Thursday, December 8, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

The Clarity duo are transmutational artists and writers, who work through collaboration and storytelling to create patterns that facilitate change. They look forward to bringing their new collection to the library for the month of December and invite everyone to join. “Beloved community, bring your drums and rattles, and your stomping feet. Have a Temper Tantrum with us! It’s been a long time since we were 4 or 5 or 6.

“We pray together as community, we play together as community, we work together as community,” they continued, “but remember, when we were small, when there were no words, or reason, or borders for the depth of our frustration, need, or anger, we had a Temper Tantrum, until the Calming Mother showed us a way out.

“Join us December 8, the Tantrum part of the show begins at 7:30 pm. Andrea Goodman will sing us back as the Calming Mother Sound.”

Clarity will also be the featured speakers at a Quarry Hill presentation at the Library on December 14; advance registration for the Hakes’ presentation on December 14 is required.
