What’s better than getting out of the cold and into a warm theater and seeing one of the best family films of 2015? During the week between Christmas and New Year, The Grand offers everyone the opportunity to see a great film the way it was meant to be see – projected on a giant screen, larger than life – a film that is appropriate for all ages so you can bring the whole family. And in the Pixar's summer hit “Inside Out,” the audience can see a story that takes place on the most mysterious place of all – a middle-schooler's brain.
Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (voiced by Amy Poehler), Fear (voiced by Bill Hader), Anger (voiced by Lewis Black), Disgust (voiced by Mindy Kaling), and Sadness (voiced by Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley's mind, where they advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school. With the voices of Richard Kind, Diane Lane, Kyle MacLachlan, Paula Poundstone, and Bobby Moynihan.
So bring the whole family, get out of the cold and share the experience of seeing one of the best animated films of the year the way it was meant to be seen – on the big screen – as The Grand presents “Inside Out.”
“Inside Out” is part of The Grand film program’s Vacation Matinee series that includes the upcoming screening of the animated film “Home” (featuring the voices of Jim Parsons, Rihanna, and Steve Martin) showing daily at 1 pm from Monday, February 15th through Friday February 19th for only $1 per person. Vacation matinees are sponsored by the City of Ellsworth and Morton’s Moo.
