Faberge in High Definition Broadcast at Strand on January 9

Rockland, Maine - The Strand Theatre, 345 Main Street, will present a high definition broadcast of the award-winning documentary Faberge: A Life Of It’s Own on Saturday, January 9 at 3pm.

This new film, screening in cinemas around the world, tells the fascinating story behind one of the most prestigious names in luxury: Fabergé. Viewers will enjoy unprecedented access to the most esteemed private collections, insights from world experts and interviews with the descendants of the Fabergé family. The special film release will also feature exclusive access to two historic pieces and presents them to an international audience for the first time, before they return to their private collections:

The first ‘Imperial Class’ Egg produced for 99 years: The Pearl Egg, commissioned to mark 100 years since the production of the last Imperial Egg for Tsar Nicolas II, will be unveiled to audiences in exquisite close-up detail. A spectacular objet d’art, it features over 3,000 diamonds and natural pearls.

The remarkable story of a lost Imperial Egg: This Imperial Egg, long believed to be lost until its surprise discovery by a scrap metal dealer last year, will be revealed to the public for the first time, having already been sold privately for an estimated $30 million.
