Kayla Royer named to ECAC DIII New England All-Stars Second Team

DANBURY, Conn. – Husson Senior defender Kayla Royer has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Field Hockey DIII New England All-Stars Second Team, the conference office announced Thursday afternoon, making it the third time in program history a Eagle player has been named to the team as Melissa Souza was named to the team in 2014 and Helen Berry in 2010. The team is voted on by representatives from the region's member institutions.

As a captain Royer anchored a Eagle defense that only allowed a league low four goals in conference play, with a league leading three defensive saves. She also made history for the Eagles, becoming the all-time leader in career defensive saves for Husson field hockey. In Husson's game vs. #3 Middlebury on October 18, Royer rewrote the record book as she broke her single-season record for most defensive saves with seven, as well.
