HS Girls Basketball: Medomak Valley Out Shoots Oceanside

Rockland, Maine - Oceanside girls varsity basketball team hosted Medomak Valley on December 15th, 2015 to a full gym in Rockland, Maine. Medomak Valley ended up out shooting Oceanside by a score of 39-35, a close 4 point game. This game was apart of a varsity boys and girls doubleheader.

Medomak Valley scorers for this game against Oceanside were Krista Hooper 1pt foul shot, Maggie Cox 10pts, 4pts from foul shots, Gappy DePatsy 6pts, 4pts from foul shots, Sophie Cohen had a big night by scoring 18pts with 12pts from four three pointers and Justice Barrows with 4pts, 2pts from foul shots.

Oceanside despite not winning fought to the very end when Gabby Simmons knocked down a three
pointer. Scorers were Ari Curtis with a 3 pointer, Kayln Grover 4pts, 2pts from foul shots, Jillian Brooks 7pts with 3pts from a three pointer, MaKenna Brooks 4pts, Alexis Mazurek 4pts, Brianna Dugan 4pts and Gabby Simmons knocked down 2 three pointers, 1pt foul shot, 2pt shot totaling 9pts.

Coach for Oceanside says, "Leading the way for Oceanside was sophomore Gabby Simmons with 9 points, and Junior Jillian Brooks with 7 points. Oceanside hit 4 three pointers and were 3 for 8 from the foul line.

Leading the Panthers was Sophie Cohen with 18 points hitting four three pointers on her own. Helping her out was Maggie Cox with 10 points and shot 4 for 4 from the foul line. Medomak shot 11 for 15 from the line as a team", states the Oceanside coach.
