York Farmers’ Market to Begin its 13th Season

The Greater York Region Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the 13th season of the York Farmers’ Market, which will kick off on Saturday, June 6th. The 2015 Saturday Market will feature approximately 35 local vendors, including several who are founding members! Our Thursday market will begin its fifth season this year and it is steadily growing.

Thank you to our sponsor, When Pigs Fly! We sincerely appreciate their support; they have been participating in our market for years and this is their fourth year sponsoring.

Steph Oeser, market manager, says, “We are very excited about our expansion this season! We purchased neighboring land last year and this will be our first season to utilize it. With the additional space, we have room for new vendors, more parking for vendors and customers, picnic tables and a bike rack. After a few years of working on securing a vendor to sell lunch food, I am happy to announce that we will have Fat Tomato Grill offering sandwiches, lobster rolls, beverages and salads. Customers have been asking for a prepared lunch option and I'm so glad that we'll have it this year to accompany those picnic tables. I am also excited about some new and interesting products like sheep's milk cheese and organic popsicles, which will be offered at the Saturday market."

The 2015 York Farmers' Market runs (rain or shine) every Saturday from June 6 through October 10 from 9:00am - 1:00pm and every Thursday from July 2 through August 27 from 9:00am - 1:00pm. The market takes place in the lot behind the Greater York Region Chamber of Commerce off Route 1 at 1 Stonewall Lane in York, Maine. Our food vendors offer fresh veggies & fruit, meats, dairy products, seafood, herbs, desserts, breads, oils & spices, sandwiches, prepared foods and more. Select craft products include lotions, soaps, wood goods, jewelry, candles and pottery. For a list of vendors please visit www.gatewayfarmersmarket.com.
