Camden Rotary Club Seeks Sponsors and Support for 2015 Music by the Sea Concert
Free Camden Rotary benefit concert supports the Midcoast Community
July 4, 2015 • Camden Harbor Park
CAMDEN, ME – June 5 2015– The Camden Rotary Club will bring four live band performances to Camden on July 4th for this year’s Music-by-the-Sea Concert in Camden Harbor Park and Amphitheatre – a major event during the Midcoast Festival of Independence.
An Independence Day tradition since the late 1980s, this free public concert is organized by the Camden Rotary Club and sponsored by Rotarians, local businesses and individuals.
The Club’s goal is to raise $25,000 from concert sponsorships for its Youth Are the Future Program -- a major effort effort to support the development and education of youth in the Knox County and Lincolnville area – and to help fund grants for local organizations. This year’s grant recipients include Area Interfaith Outreach, Strive Northern New England, the Knox County Health Clinic, Penobscot School, and Merryspring Nature Center.
Music by the Sea 2015 will feature four groups:
- 2:00 – 3:15 p.m.: Miners Creek Bluegrass Band – a family band with a distinctive take on bluegrass music, combining folk, Latin, classic rock, Appalachian and other influences
- 3:30 – 4:45 p.m.: Casco Bay Wind Symphony – one of the top community ensembles in New England, playing marches, Broadway hits, and popular tunes
- 5:00 – 6:15 p.m.: Reina del Cid -- – A spirited folk rock group from Minneapolis, back by popular demand
- 7:45 pm – 9:00 p.m. David Dodson and the Lowdown, featuring John and Rachel Nicholas. Local musician and singer songwriter David Dobson has shared the stage with some of the nation’s best artists. Camden's spectacular fireworks will follow this performance.
All sponsors will be acknowledged for their generosity with a listing in the concert program, the Camden Rotary Club’s website and other promotional materials. For more information or to become a sponsor, please contact Glenn Buckingham at (207) 230-7200.
