Blue Hill, Maine - Kids ages 5 to 12 are invited to an interactive children’s program at the Blue Hill Public Library exploring the theme of “Turning Stories into Songs,” led by Kneisel Hall's new team of teaching musicians on Wednesday May 27 from 3:30 to 4:30 PM. The event is free, but registration is required. Participants may sign up using the Library’s interactive calendar at www.bhpl.net or by calling the Library at 374-5515.
Kids will work with the guest artists to compose soundtracks to favorite children’s stories, create new stories inspired by the music performed, and share favorite Blue Hill experiences through song. The guest musicians will be Matt Consul, viola; Hannah Collins, cello; Hannah Sun, piano; and Laura Weiner, horn.
This concert is part of a week of events, May 26th to 29th, organized by Kneisel Hall called KHBH - Together in Music, a long-term outreach initiative dedicated to sparking a creative dialogue between Kneisel Hall musicians and members of the Blue Hill community. Events will also include workshops in Blue Hill schools, a visit to Parker Ridge Retirement Community, and public performances at Kneisel Hall and the Blue Hill Wine Shop.
