World Kindness Day at the Rockland Library

Rockland, Maine - Wednesday, November 13 is World Kindness Day.  Come to the Rockland Public Library to observe the day.  Join in the food drive.  Children and adults are asked to bring in non-perishable foods for the Area Interfaith Outreach Food Pantry in Rockland and to help out our neighbors in need. Pasta sauces, soups, canned corn, and ravioli and other canned pasta are especially needed. The Food Drive will last through the end of December.  Also come in and pick up some “Random Acts of Kindness” cards and information about local volunteer opportunities.

Children are invited to a 10:30 AM special storytime. Librarian Jean Young will read the classic Stone Soup. Children are encouraged to bring in their favorite vegetable for soup making.  Then they may choose from the “kindness basket” a kind activity to perform for another person. Additionally on Saturday at 10:30 AM there will be another special storytime and Kindness Poster Project.
