Domingue joins the Pirates after starting the season in Gwinnett, where he appeared in 3 games, going 0-2 with a 3.01 goals against average and a .887 save percentage. The 6’3, 200lbs native of Mont. St. Hilaire, PQ appeared in 2 games for the Pirates last season, making his AHL debut in relief against the Worcester Sharks on February 23, 2013 and winning his first career AHL start on February 26th against the Providence Bruins.
Domingue played in 34 games for the Gladiators last season with a regular season record of 23-9-1 with a 2.69 GAA and a .904 save percentage. Domingue also appeared in 10 playoff games for the Gladiators last year, posting a .926 save percentage and a 2.23 goals against average. Domingue was drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 5th round (#138 overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
The Pirates will next play tonight when they host the St. John’s Ice Caps at 7 PM for the first of two games at the Colisée this week. Fans who wear a costume to the game and get a $10 ticket at the box office – fans dressed as either a Pirate or a hockey player will be entered to win a game worn Pirates jersey as well.
