LaBrie Leads Terriers Past Pilgrims 6-2

HENNIKER, New Hampshire – The Thomas College men's soccer team improved their North Atlantic Conference (NAC) record to 2-0 with a 6-2 win over New England College on Saturday.  Adam LaBrie scored three goals on three shots and senior captain Tre Ming recorded three assists to lead the Terriers.

With the win the Terriers improve to 6-3-0 overall and remain undefeated in NAC play with a record of 2-0-0.  With the loss the Pilgrims drop to 7-6-0 on the season and 1-3-0 in the NAC.

LaBrie put Thomas on the scoreboard just six minutes into the game on an assist from Willie Clemons.  At the 21st minute, Clemons added his fifth goal of the season from Ming to put the Terriers up 2-0.  The Pilgrims cut the Terriers lead in half on a Conor Douglass goal to finish the first half at 2-1.

Just three minutes into the second half, LaBrie added two quick goals to extend the lead to 4-1.  Ming and DJ Nicholas recorded assists on the goals.  Eight minutes later, Nicholas scored his sixth of the season to add to the Terrier lead.  At the 84th minute, sophomore Kyle Fletcher added another insurance goal on Ming's third assist of the match.  A minute later, the Pilgrims scored their second goal from Stephen Brown to finish the game at 6-2.

The Pilgrims had a 15-14 advantage in shots and 5-2 advantage in corners over the Terriers throughout the contest.  Joakim Sternas earned the win in goal for the Terriers with six saves while Tenzin Khenrab was given the loss for the Pilgrims.

The Terriers will return to the pitch on Sunday, October 4 at Colby-Sawyer for a conference matchup at 12:00 p.m.
