Colby Women’s soccer falls to Panthers

MIDDLEBURY, Vermont — The Colby College women’s soccer team nearly went to intermission trailing just 1-0, but Middlebury College scored with just 31 seconds remaining and the Panthers went on to a 4-0 victory Saturday.

Colby drops to 3-4-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the league, while Middlebury moves to 3-3-1 overall and 2-2-1 in the conference.
 
Grace Woroch tapped in a cross from the right side by Adrianna Gildner at 13:55 for the game-winning goal.
 
Another cross from the right side and a second tap-in score put the Panthers up 2-0 with 31 seconds left in the first half. Katherine Hobbs tallied from Amy Martin.
 
Jamie Soroka had a blast from the 18-yard line to the top right corner after taking a pass from Martin at 64:26 for a 3-0 margin.
 
Gildner closed out the scoring at 74:30 from Hannah Robinson on a third cross from the right side.
Colby goalkeeper Ashley Conley made 10 saves, while Middlebury keeper Emily Eslinger made five saves. The Mules had all five of their shots go on goal.
