Whitingham, Vt. - Husson women's soccer earned the sixth seed in the upcoming North Atlantic Conference championship and will host a quarterfinal game on Saturday, October 31.
Castleton has claimed the top seed for the 2015 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Women's Soccer Championship, which begins with quarterfinal matchups on campus sites Saturday, October 31.
The Spartans (11-7 overall) secured the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament after compiling an unblemished 9-0 record in NAC play and will earn a bye in Saturday's quarterfinal round. Second-seeded Colby-Sawyer (11-3-2 overall, 8-1 NAC) will also earn a bye in the quarterfinals.
Maine Maritime (9-7-1, 6-2-1) claimed the No. 3 seed, while New England College (8-10-1, 5-4), UMaine-Farmington (7-9-1, 4-4-1) and Husson (7-9-1, 4-5) earned the No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 seeds respectively to complete the six-team tournament field.
NAC predetermined tiebreaking procedures were used to seed teams with identical conference winning percentages.
Two quarterfinal contests will be played on Saturday, as No. 3 Maine Maritime will host No. 6 Husson and No. 4 New England College will host No. 5 UMaine-Farmington. Game times will be announced once determined.
Quarterfinal winners will advance to the semifinal round which will be played on Tuesday, November 3. Top-seeded Castleton will host the winner of the New England College vs. UMaine-Farmington quarterfinal, while No. 2 Colby-Sawyer will host the winner of the Maine Maritime vs. Husson quarterfinal contest. Semifinal game times will be released at a later date.
Semifinal winners will square off for the conference championship on Saturday, November 7, at a time to be determined at the site of the higher seed.
The NAC Champion will receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship.
