Busy weekend of events in Portland

42nd Annual Old Port Festival, concerts at the Maine State Pier, and More!
Portland, Maine - It's slated to be a busy weekend in Portland with several concerts at the Maine State Pier, Shop Second Saturday, Walk the Working Waterfront, the 42nd annual Old Port Festival, and more! Portland has become a unique place for musicians to visit and perform.  We are fortunate this week to have three concerts scheduled at the Maine State Pier. Last night the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band and Jonny Lang performed, tonight the Wailers and Rusted Root will take the stage, and Saturday evening David Gray and Rachael Yamagata will entertain.

Officials want residents to know that the City is dedicated to making sure that the performances stay within our noise guidelines. We have technical staff measuring the decibels during the concert around the venue and within the neighborhoods. If readings are too high, we work with the promoter to adjust levels immediately. Residents can call Police dispatch if they have a concern about the noise levels. Those calls are forwarded to the officers at the concert and relayed to the promoter. Concerts are scheduled to end at 9:00 PM on weeknights and 10:00 PM on weekends. You can also comment on the City’s website at http://www.portlandmaine.gov/communityvoice.
