“Ready2Work” Job Search & Training Resources

“Ready2Work” Job Search & Training Resources for Maine’s Job Seekers, May 18 and May 21

The Camden Public Library is pleased to host an informational event for job seekers in Knox County. Kevin Connors, CareerCenter Consultant for the Maine Department of Labor (MDOL), and Richard Sterrs, Business Services Representative for Goodwill Workforce Solutions, will present the resources and job-related training opportunities available to area job seekers. There will be two sessions of the presentation: Monday, May 18, 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 pm; and Thursday, May 21, 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. All are welcome!

Kevin and Richard will explain the network of workforce readiness professionals that support job seekers and employers throughout the county, region, and state. Participants will learn about the various Federal and State training grants that help job seekers obtain the skills and knowledge they need for jobs now and in the future.

Did you lose a job, through no fault of your own, and have you been or do you expect to be unemployed for at least six months? You may qualify for a new program that connects employers with people in your situation!

Ready2Work supports your success by:
•Matching you with employers who are looking to train new employees to update or learn new skills
•Helping you get back in the workforce by providing work-environment skills and certificate or skill training at no cost to you
•Assisting you in identifying your skills, strengths, and interests

Ready2Work is a customized, on-the-job training program delivered in collaboration between the Maine Department of Labor, Department of Education, and an employer. Contact your local CareerCenter to see if there is a Ready2Work program in your area, or join us for one of the sessions, either May 18 or May 21.
