A HOME FOR CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL

The second event of KELT's Spring Stewardship Series focuses on building habitat for wildlife
Bath, Maine - The Kennebec Estuary Land Trust (KELT) invites the public to join the second workshop in the spring Stewardship Series, A Home for Creatures Great and Small: Building Habitats for Wildlife, on Sunday, May 3 at 1:00 pm. Held at KELT's Sewall Woods Preserve in Bath, this workshop is ideal for landowners looking to augment their property to be welcoming to Maine's furry and feathered friends.

Join KELT's Stewardship Coordinator, Cheri Brunault, to explore the wide range of habitats utilized by forest wildlife. Learn how humans can help to augment the types of shelters available to animals by visiting the owl boxes, bat box, and native bee log installed in Sewall Woods Preserve. Discover how you can manage a landscape to provide a variety of environments and food sources for animals. Help to build an inviting wildlife brush pile and learn about available resources to help enhance wildlife on your property.

This event is free and open to public thanks to the generosity of Rogers Ace Hardware. Registration is required by May 1 due to the limited class size. Please contact KELT at 207-442-8400 or bkolak@kennebecestuary.org to sign-up. This is a rain or shine event and the course framework is geared for adult participants.

The Kennebec Estuary Land Trust is a membership supported organization dedicated to protecting the land, water and wildlife of the Kennebec Estuary.  It maintains nine preserves for public enjoyment and has protected 2,668 acres of land since founding in 1989.
