Rockland Has Style - 2nd Annual Fashion Show
An evening of fun and fashion is scheduled for Wednesday October 29th. The Samoset Resort will be the location for Rockland Has Style, a fashion show featuring clothing, cosmetics, hair, jewelry and accessories.
This will be the second consecutive year for the popular event produced by Rockland Main Street, Inc., which is expected to have up to 250 people in attendance, and more than 20 participating businesses.
Children’s fashions, hand-crafted jewelry, styles for the working man, and women’s clothing will be modeled in a fun setting guaranteed to entertain and provide gift giving ideas for the fall and holiday seasons. There will even be clothing for pets on the runway.
Among others, models for the evening’s events will include Chris Raye, Celia Knight, Kelly Woods, Janet Page, Maggi Blue and Chris Oliver. North Atlantic Blues Festival promoter Paul Benjamin will emcee the event.
Participating businesses, many of them with locations on Main Street and in Rockland’s downtown district, include Planet Toys;Rockland School of Ballet; Miss Emily’s Etiquette and Modeling Institute; Grasshopper Shop; Mace’s; Loyal Biscuit; Clementine; J C Penney; Over the Rainbow Yarn, wearing Michael Good Designs; Sea Street Graphics; Black Parrot; Something Blue; T. J. Maxx;Sogno Salon, wearing Jewelry By George; Embroidery Shop; Puffin’s Nest Clothing and Gifts; C’est La Vie; and Hamilton Marine.
Makeup will be provided by RHEAL Day Spa, and hair styling will be provided by Coppola Salon and Day Spa.
The evening will begin at 6:00 with a cash bar and complimentary light bites. FIORE will be on hand with an Artisan Olive Oils and Vinegars tasting table. The fashion show will begin at 7:00.
Tickets are $15 per person, and are available at participating businesses, and at the door prior to the show.
Rockland Main Street, Inc., is a downtown advocacy organization that focuses on historic preservation of, and economic development in the downtown district, in addition to producing promotional events like, “So You Think You Know Rockland”; the Summer Solstice Celebration & Street Party; the “Midcoast Maine Has Talent – Or Not!” variety show; the “Festival of Lights Parade” and the “Lobster Trap Christmas Tree”.
