Rockland, Maine - The 2014-2015 “NT Live” season of high definition play broadcasts by London’s National Theatre continues with “Skylight” on Thursday, November 6 at the Strand Theatre. The captured-live broadcast, recorded at London’s West End theater, will show at 2pm and 7pm.
Bill Nighy (“Love Actually,” “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel”) and Carey Mulligan (“Inside Llewyn Davis,” “The Great Gatsby”) feature in the highly-anticipated production by David Hare, directed by Stephen Daldry (“The Audience”).
On a bitterly cold London evening, schoolteacher Kyra Hollis (Mulligan) receives an unexpected
visit from her former lover, Tom Sergeant (Nighy), a successful and charismatic restaurateur whose wife has recently died. As the evening progresses, the two attempt to rekindle their once passionate relationship only to find themselves locked in a dangerous battle of opposing ideologies and mutual desires.
“National Theatre Live” is the National Theatre's groundbreaking project to broadcast the best of British theater live from the London stage to cinemas across the UK and around the world. Their broadcasts have now been experienced by over 1.5 million people in over 500 venues.
