The job fair is open to the public; the first hour is dedicated to Veterans, service members and their families.
Brunswick, Maine - The Southern Midcoast Maine Chamber and the Southern Midcoast CareerCenter are co-sponsoring the third annual Hiring Maine's Heroes job fair on Wednesday, November 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 2 Columbus Drive, Brunswick.
To honor our veterans, the fair will open to veterans, service members and their families at 10 a.m. and will feature an Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Statement of Support Signing hosted by Brigadier General Gerard Bolduc, Maine Air National Guard commander.The general public is welcome starting at 11 a.m.
"We've set a record this month with 8,435 jobs on the Maine Job Bank; we know employers are
looking for help," said Governor Paul R. LePage. "This job fair features different types of occupations and industries. Come prepared to interview with Midcoast-area employers and highlight the skills you will bring to their business."

Recently separated or transitioning veterans can attend a Mini Transition Assistance Program workshop starting at noon. The workshop, available on a first-come, first-served basis and facilitated by Wendy Moody, transition assistance advisor for the state of Maine with Skyline Unlimited, will cover a wide range of topics to help with the reintegration process.
Job seekers should bring a resume and, more important, should be prepared to have an "interview-like" conversation with employers to discuss skills, knowledge and abilities. Attendees should also be dressed for an interview.
CareerCenters, part of the Maine Department of Labor, offer a variety of workshops and services to help people find employment or upgrade skills. Each center provides several public-access computer workstations with Microsoft Office software, resume writing and cover letter software, Internet access and O*Net software for skills assessment. All CareerCenter services are no-cost.
