The gala begins at 6:30 p.m. when guests will be greeted by the sight and sounds of thrilling aerial demonstrations performed in the Museum’s authentic barnstorming-era aircraft. Music, food and festivities, along with a few exciting surprises, will continue throughout the evening and guests will have the opportunity to bid on a selection of approximately 10 curated items in a small silent auction. The evening will culminate in a live auction of just three special items headlined by a new CedarWorks playset. Additional items included in the silent auction include earrings by Michael Good, custom cufflinks by Thomas Michaels, a weekend getaway at the Harraseeket Inn and more.
The winner of OHTM’s 1951 MG TD raffle will be drawn at the finale of the evening.
The vision for the future of the Owls Head Transportation Museum casts the spotlight on the expansion of its education initiatives. Exciting projects in 2014 include the construction of a Model T in conjunction with high school students from the Mid-Coast School of Technology, free educational programs for students during school vacations, the continuation of the free Winter Education Series and more. OHTM staff and trustees look forward to continuing the exploration of exciting partnerships and offerings. Community support is vital to these exciting programs available both on and offsite and the museum is thankful for the outpouring of support from our generous business sponsors and donors. With Media support from Down East Magazine and food by Chef Kerry Altiero of Rockland’s acclaimed Cafe Miranda the Barnstormers Ball offers an opportunity to support the future of the Museum while enjoying what is certain to be one of the most talked about events of the summer.
Tickets to the gala are $100 each and a limited number will will be sold. All proceeds will benefit Museum education efforts. To purchase your tickets visit owlshead.org or contact Niki Janczura at nj@ohtm.org or by phone at (207)594-4418.
