Portland, Maine Rated One of 14 Places You Should Plan to Visit in 2014 by Business Insider

BusinessInsider.com listed Portland, Maine as a place to visit in 2014.    The publication looked at major developments, cultural trends, and global festivals to find the hottest places to travel around the world and noted sites from Croatia to Tokyo.  Portland is number three on the list after Bangkok, Thailand and is one of only two U.S cities listed.

As stated in the article,  "America's other Portland has been gaining a reputation as a funky low-key destination that prizes quality food and cutting-edge art."  Also noted is that there will be no shortage of hotel options in Portland, as the city is expecting to open 500 new rooms in the next two years.
