BREAKING NEWS: Armed USM student barricaded in fraternity house **RESOLVED**

UPDATED 11:55pm:  USM student is now in police custody. There are no injuries and no shots were fired. Roads will be back open soon.

Gorham situation :: The situation in Gorham has safely resolved. The roadblocks will be clearing soon.

UPDATE: A male student at the University of Southern Maine is alone in a fraternity house. He is armed. No shots have been fired and there are no reports of any injuries.

The situation is under control. The Gorham Police Department is in command of the scene. 

The Sigma Nu fraternity House is located on School Street in downtown Gorham, a short distance from USM's Gorham campus.

The situation was reported at approximately 8 p.m.

Gorham campus access update :: Due to an ongoing situation at School and Main Sts Gorham, please avoid walking downtown.

UPDATE: USM spokesman says Sigma Nu fraternity member is armed & won't come out of frat house in Gorham. There are no hostages in the stand off.

Gorham, Maine - Police have a Fraternity house on the University of Maine campus surrounded. A student has barricaded himself in his room at a frat house and has threatened to hurt himself.

A dance studio, The Dance Studio of Maine and Gorham House of Pizza, is currently in lockdown. Major roads in the center of town are currently closed.

Standoff on School St just outside USM's Gorham campus. University spokesperson Bob Caswell says a member of Sigma Nu fraternity is holed up inside the frat house. Had been unruly and threatening to other members of the frat earlier in the day. No one hurt as of now.

Access to Gorham campus is limited due to an emergency situation at Main and School Streets according to USM facebook.
