The bridge was closed on Sunday, January 5th mid-day to let air temperatures melt the remaining ice off of the bridge cables and piers. Due to the temperatures and today's rainfall, ice is now cleared from the bridge and traffic can flow freely.
MaineDOT wishes to thank motorists for their patience and understanding that safety for the traveling public was the first priority.
