Rockland, Maine - On Tuesday, January 7 at 6:30 Rockland Public Library will host an informational forum on the Affordable Care Act.
In 2013 new options for health insurance became available to Maine residents. New coverage began on January 1. What are the options and how does one access these new plans under the Affordable Care Act? The Rockland Public Library is partnering with Maine Community Health Options to provide an informal community forum to answer these and other questions about the Health Insurance Marketplace and the new CO-OP health insurance company, Maine Community Health Options.
The Marketplace will offer Maine consumers health insurance coverage in the individual or small-group markets, with the availability of cost sharing reductions and advanced premium tax credits – making coverage more affordable for tens of thousands of Maine people.
Malory Shaughnessy, Outreach and Education Specialist from Maine Community Health Options will give an overview of what people need to know to participate in the Marketplace, as well as what assistance is available to help reduce the cost to consumers. There will be time for a question and answer period.
Take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about Maine’s new health insurance marketplace, options, enrollment procedures, periods and deadlines.
