Workshop at Merryspring Nature Center on Saturday, May 25 at 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.
Guests will join Seymour on a walking lecture around the Merryspring grounds for a foraging scavenger hunt for native and wild edible plants. Along with botanical properties and natural histories, Seymour will give attendees cooking tips and recipe ideas for edible plants found in the Midcoast region.
Seymour is a writer and naturalist based in Waldo. He is the author of multiple books including Wild Plants of Maine – A Useful Guide, Forager’s Notebook, and Foraging New England – and many Falcon Guides on subjects as diverse as hiking, birding, and fishing in Maine.
This is an outdoor lecture, so participants are reminded to wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing for this event. To best accommodate the group, this workshop has a limit of 20 people.
