Thursday, May 30

“Overland Tales: A Nineteen Year Old’s Adventures On The Way To India in 1971,” an illustrated talk by Camden photographer, author, and anthropologist Steve Huyler, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library.


Saturday, June 1

Simply Books is the Camden Public Library’s book group for adults. The group meets on the first Saturday of every month at 2:00 pm in the Jean Picker Room. Open to all, call the library at 236-3440 for more information.


Tuesday, June 4

Al Gore’s “Climate Reality: Connecting the dots between extreme weather and global warming” slide talk presented at the Camden Public Library by environmental lawyer Sharon Tisher, 7:00 pm. Through remarkable photographs, instructional animations, and film, the show explores the connections between global warming and extreme weather events, including severe storms, droughts, and wildfires.

Midcoast Stroke Support Group meets at the Camden Public Library at 10:00 am..


Thursday, June 6

“Songwriters Coffeehouse” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Annual showcase for the library songwriters who have been working on their new songs all winter. Led by veteran songwriters David Dodson and Jim James. Free; donations accepted.


Monday, June 10

MiMi McGee will present “The Power of Food for your Health” at the Camden Public Library at 12:00 noon, as part of the Wellness Series co-sponsored by the library and the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce.


Tuesday, June 11

Regular meeting of the Tuesday Book Club, 1:00 at the Camden Public Library; all are welcome, please call 470-7473 for more information. The group meets monthly on the second Tuesday.

Author and NBC Journalist Jack Perkins will talk about his new book, Finding Moosewood, Finding God: What Happened When a TV Newsman Abandoned His Career for Life on an Island, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Sherman’s Books will have books on hand for signing.
