Bangor Selected as Candidate for Benjamin Moore’s “Main Street Matters” Program!

Bangor, Maine - The City of Bangor and the Downtown Bangor Partnership are pleased to announce the City’s participation in Benjamin Moore’s “Main Street Matters” campaign! If the City receives enough votes, the company will paint building facades on Main Street in Downtown for free.

Bangor is just one of over 100 cities that Benjamin Moore has nominated for the national competition.  Until June 30th, 2013 at 11:59 P.M., the public can vote daily for Downtown Bangor by going to Benjamin Moore’s “Main Street Matters” website: http://www.paintwhatmatters.com/.

Jason Bird, Downtown Coordinator stated “This will only be possible with everyone’s help!  We need everyone to vote daily and spread the word!”

Benjamin Moore will not only provide all of the paint and supplies necessary for railings, shutters, and other pieces of exterior building trim, but will also offer consultation on the best materials to use and provide skilled, professional painters to ensure that the final product is most suitable for the City.

The Downtown Bangor Partnership promotes and markets activities that enhance the distinctive identity of Downtown Bangor, encouraging retention and growth of commercial, residential, and cultural life within the downtown district.
