Camden, Maine - P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center will honor veterans by participating in Camden's Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27, at 9:00 a.m. The theme of the float is "PA.W.S. Honors Vets.”
Veterans and the general public with their well-behaved animals are invited to walk with the P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center “P.A.W.S. Honors Vets” salute. Walkers are asked to wear red, white and blue or uniforms and bring flags. Posters thanking veterans are encouraged; pets must be leashed; bring water if needed. Walkers should be at the shelter by 8:45 a.m. and are asked to call Board Member and parade chair Nancy Laite at 236-2130 for more information.
P.A.W.S. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, shelter, and facilitation of adoptions for strays and unwanted cats and dogs. It brings together loving pets with caring homes. Last year it placed 274 cats and 33 dogs in foster and permanent homes. It serves the towns of Camden, Rockport, Northport, Lincolnville, Searsmont, Liberty, Islesboro and Belfast.
