AUBURNDALE, FL – The Thomas College baseball team fell to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh on Friday afternoon at Lake Myrtle Park, 20-0.
The Titans improve to 10-2 while the Terriers fall to 2-6.
Oshkosh went to work offensively in the first two innings, driving in six runs (four earned) off Thomas starter Dominic Esposito (Portland, Maine). Cody Cousins (Wells, Maine) came in relief and shut down the Titans in three innings of work.
Later on, the Titans continued to pour it on as they scored 12 more runs in the sixth and seventh to take a 18-0 lead. After a scoreless eighth, Oshkosh added two more in the ninth to finish at 20-0.
Nick McLees earned the win on the mound for the Titans in six innings of work, allowing one hit while striking out five.
Esposito shouldered the loss in two innings, four hits, and four earned runs. Cousins threw three innings with no hits and no runs. Connor Rittenhouse (Dover, N.H.) recorded the lone hit for the Terriers.
The Terriers will have a day off on Saturday and will take on St. Thomas (Minn.) on Sunday.
