Terriers Take Down Badgers, 16-4

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College men's lacrosse team bounced back with a 16-4 victory over Johnson in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matchup on Friday afternoon at Bernatchez Field.
The Terriers improve to .500 at 2-2 (2-1 NAC) while the Badgers stay winless at 0-4 (0-1 NAC).
Thomas controlled play throughout the first quarter as they netted three unanswered goals.  The Badgers chipped away at the deficit early in the second quarter as they tallied back-to-back markers to come within one.  The Terriers responded six goals to finish the half for a 9-3 advantage at the break.
The Terriers began extended the lead in the third frame on five unanswered goals, including a pair each from Colby Blondin (Colchester, Vt.) and Leo Myers (Bath, Maine).  After two more goals in the fourth for Thomas, Ethan Wehse finished the scoring for the Badgers at 16-4.
Blondin finished with six goals and four assists while Johnathan Wilcox (Palmyra, Maine) added five goals on 12 shots.  Myers and Kyle Fletcher (Monmouth, Maine) each scored two while Jacob Kendall (Lewiston, Maine) recorded a goal and three assists.
Wehse led the Badgers with two goals on two shots while Tyler Cirillo and Travis Benson each tallied a goal.  Griffin Lynde caused five turnovers defensively and scooped up seven ground balls.
Connor Lamberton (Shohola, Pa.) took the win in goal for Thomas with three saves.  Patrick Bell made 13 stopd in the effort for the Badgers.
The Terriers will return to action on Thursday, April 5 as they travel to Southern Maine.
