Beavers Split Double-Header with Newbury

Bangor, Maine – UMaine-Farmington's softball team split a double-header with Newbury College on Sunday morning with an 11-10 loss in game one and a 7-1 victory in game two on the campus of Husson University.
Game One (L, 11-10)
IN THE BOX
  • The Beavers tallied a total of nine hits in the game with Leah Stevens leading the way with three hits in five at-bats with two runs and an RBI.
  • Margaret Fogarty went two for three with three RBI's, two runs and a home run while Brianna Dugan went 2-4 with an RBI and two runs.
  • Kailyn Hill went 6.2 innings pitched, giving up nine hits, 11 runs, nine earned runs with five walks and two strikeouts.
  • Noelle Sass went 3-3 for the Nighthawks with an RBI while Alina Milauskas went 1-4 with an RBI.
  • Tina Babcock went 1-3 with two RBI's.
  • Milauskas and Mallory Stefan combined for seven innings pitched, 10 earned runs with five walks and two strikeouts.

Game Two (W, 7-1)
IN THE BOX
  • Margaret Fogarty went 3-4 for the Beavers with three RBI's to give her a total of six RBI's on the day.
  • Kayleigh Oberg went 1-1 with two RBI's and a run.
  • Brianna McGrath got the win for the Beavers, going seven strong innings, giving up seven hits, no earned runs with three walks and five strikeouts.
  • Mallory Stefan went 3-4 for the Nighthawks while Elizabeth Duanys and Samantha Libby each tallied two hits.
  • Stefan threw all seven, giving up seven hits, seven runs with three of them earned with two walks and two strikeouts.

The Beavers will travel to Colby on Wednesday for a 4:00 PM start time.
