Josh Emard scored the game-winner for Thomas (10-4, 6-1 NAC) with 2:14 to play off an assist from Tre Ming.
Husson (7-4-1, 4-2 NAC) opened the scoring in the 28th minute on a goal by Phil Frost. After receiving a pass from Josh Bean inside the 18, Stephen Berenyi found the foot of Frost, who drove a shot past Thomas goalkeeper Joakim Sternas for the 1-0 lead.
The Terriers had a pair of chances late in the first half off of free kicks, the first was wide left by Kyle Fletcher, while the second, off the foot of Ming, slammed hard into the crossbar.
The Eagles netted their second of the game six minutes into the second half. Frost scored his second on a header off a throw-in by Bean.
Facing a two-goal deficit, Thomas picked up the tempo offensively. The emotional intensity of the match also picked up, eventually leading to cautions to both Ming and Frost in the 76th minute.
The Terriers finally broke through in the 84th minute as Adam LaBrie beat a diving Gross to his left side. Ming was credited with the assist. LaBrie added a second goal three minutes later, knotting the score at 2-2 off an assist from London Steede-Jackson.
Just 54 seconds passed between the restart and LaBrie's second goal and Emard's game-winner.
Thomas finished with a 19-7 edge in shots and a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks. LaBrie led all players with five shots, while DJ Nicholas added four for the Terriers. Frost and Cam Libbey had two shots each for Husson.
The Eagles return to the pitch Tuesday, October 20, when they host University of Maine at Farmington at Boucher Field. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
