Paving to Begin on I-95 Southbound

Detroit, Maine - Crews will be paving and performing safety improvements on I-95 southbound through the towns of Detroit, Palmyra, Newport and Pittsfield beginning on Monday, May 4th.

The project will begin on I-95 southbound from Exit 157 to Exit 150. The paving will continue on Route 11/100 from the Detroit town line to Route 2 in Newport, as well as the Exit 157 off-ramp in Newport and the I-95 southbound bridges between Palmyra and Pittsfield.

Work on the Interstate will include daytime lane closures Monday through Saturday on the southbound lanes through the work zones. Motorists will be advised of ramp closures 72 hours in advance via variable message boards.

Work includes mobilization, tree trimming, pavement milling, asphalt overlay, ramp realignment and drainage and safety improvements.

It is anticipated all work will be completed by the end of October, 2015.

Pike Industries, Inc. of Fairfield will perform this $3.8 million project.
