Camden Public Library Events May 7 through May 21

Thursday, May 7

“At the Blink of a Hat” performing at the Camden Library Coffeehouse, 7:00 pm, $8. At the Blink of a Hat is the trio of Julia Plumb, Baron Collins-Hill, and Will Brown. Their music is “quick, playful, and a delight to the ear!”


Saturday, May 9

TLC Day in Harbor Park & Camden Amphitheatre. Join Dave Jackson at 9:00 am for the annual spring cleanup. Bring hand tools and gloves and meet in the Amphitheatre for a couple hours of fun and volunteer work sprucing up!


Monday, May 11

Jenna Labbe-Watson will present “An Introduction to Ayurveda” at 12:00 noon as part of the Wellness series at the Camden Public Library, hosted by Destination Wellness Midcoast Maine.


Tuesday, May 12

Leer y Charlar Spanish discussion group, 1:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, all who are proficient in Spanish are welcome.

“Trekking in Patagonia,” illustrated slide talk by Sandie Sabaka, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Sabaka is an outdoorswoman, park ranger, avid hiker, backpacker, and skier.

The Camden Philosophical Society hosts Richard Ogle in a talk on “The Crisis of Modernity,” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, all are welcome.


Sunday, May 17

“Nepal” Community Response slide presentation by Meghan Vigeant, 2:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, featuring before-and-after images, in support of a week of fundraising events being planned.


Monday, May 18

Ready2Work presents “Job & Training Resources for Maine’s Job Seekers,” 1:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, an overview of county, region, and state resources, covering various Federal and State training grants that help job seekers obtain the skills and knowledge they need.


Tuesday, May 19

“Tech Tuesday” topic at the Camden Public Library is “YouTube 101,” at 3:00 pm with staff wizard Olga Zimmerman. Did you know that YouTube can do more than just play a single video at a time? Come learn about channels, subscriptions, playlists, how to watch and how to upload your own.

Songwriters Session, 6:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, with David Dodson and John Nicholas, in preparation for the June Coffeehouse. Open to all.

“Tick Talk” with Lyme disease specialist Dr. Bea Szantyr, all are welcome, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library.



Thursday, May 21

Ready2Work presents “Job & Training Resources for Maine’s Job Seekers,” 6:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, covering various Federal and State training grants that help job seekers obtain the skills and knowledge they need.

Hope Douglas, founder of Wind Over Wings, will present “Birds of Prey and a Raven Who Thinks He’s a Bird of Prey!” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Experience the wonder of being a few feet away from a magnificent eagle, red-tailed Hawk, rambunctious raven, or tiny saw-whet owl. Hosted by the Midcoast Audubon Society.
