The Camden Philosophical Society hosts Richard Ogle in a talk on “The Crisis of Modernity,” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, all are welcome.


Sunday, May 17

“Nepal” Community Response slide presentation by Meghan Vigeant and Midcoast Maine Loves Nepal, 2:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, featuring before-and-after images, in support of “Eat for Nepal,” a week of fundraising events in response to the devastation of the earthquake.


Monday, May 18

Ready2Work presents “Job & Training Resources for Maine’s Job Seekers,” 1:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, an overview of county, region, and state resources, covering various Federal and State training grants that help job seekers obtain the skills and knowledge they need.


Tuesday, May 19

“Tech Tuesday” topic at the Camden Public Library is “YouTube 101,” at 3:00 pm with staff wizard Olga Zimmerman. Did you know that YouTube can do more than just play a single video at a time? Come learn about channels, subscriptions, playlists, how to watch and how to upload your own.

Songwriters Session, 6:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, with David Dodson and John Nicholas, in preparation for the June Coffeehouse. Open to all. Call 236-3440 for more information.

“Tick Talk” with Lyme disease specialist Dr. Bea Szantyr, all are welcome, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, covering vital information on ticks and Lyme disease and its treatment and prevention.

Ready2Work presents “Job & Training Resources for Maine’s Job Seekers,” 6:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, covering various Federal and State training grants that help job seekers obtain the skills and knowledge they need.

Hope Douglas, founder of Wind Over Wings, will present “Birds of Prey, and a Raven Who Thinks He’s a Bird of Prey!” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Experience the wonder of being a few feet away from a magnificent eagle, red-tailed Hawk, rambunctious raven, or tiny saw-whet owl. Hosted by the Midcoast Audubon Society.


Saturday, May 23

Simply Books Club, 2:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, a book group for adults, all are welcome. Simply bring along whatever book you are currently reading and want to talk about!


Tuesday, May 26

Leer y Charlar Spanish discussion group, 1:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, all who are proficient in Spanish are welcome.

Author Patti Marxsen presents “Helene Schweitzer: A Life of Her Own,” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. The book was recently published by Syracuse University Press.


Thursday, May 28

Dr. Robert Lawrence will speak on “Climate change, threats to food security, and opportunities for Maine farmers,” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, hosted by Maine Farmland Trust.
