“Song Circle”

“Song Circle” December 30 at Camden Public Library

The Camden Public Library will host another Song Circle on Tuesday evening, December 30, 6:30 to 8:30 pm, in the Picker Room. “It’s a perfect evening to get together for some live music,” said Ken Gross, program director at the Camden Public Library. “It’s a relaxed time right between Christmas and New Year’s, and a good opportunity to warm up your guitar and your voice or whatever instrument you have and come down to the library.” The Song Circle is open to all acoustic musicians to share their songs, both traditional and original, in an informal song-circle format. Bring a song or two and a friend or two and join in, you may find some instrumental and voice support at the Song Circle. Call Ken Gross at the library at 236-3440 with any questions.

The library will also host the Songwriters Sessions beginning in January, which is a similar, supportive format in which to try out new songs. The Songwriters work on all-new, original songs, to create a song and then to polish it for performing at the annual Songwriters Coffeehouse in June. The Songwriters Sessions will again be led by veteran songwriters David Dodson and John Nicholas. The sessions are set for Third Tuesdays, beginning January 20 at 6:00 pm.
