Oceanside Lady Mariners Wins In Overtime Against Lincoln Academy Eagles

Rockland, Maine - The Oceanside High School Lady Mariners varsity team hosted the Eagles of Lincoln Academy on Friday, December 12th in Rockland, Maine. This game was no runaway as both teams were playing as hard as the other. At the end of the game it was tied leaving no choice than to go into overtime. In overtime both teams worked really hard that left things tied until the last few seconds when Ashley Gardner was able to sink the basket.

Oceanside and Lincoln Academy were pretty evenly matched as the score was close most of the game until they tied in the second half. It wasn't until a few seconds before overtime was over when Oceanside prevailed as the winner by scoring a two pointer. Final score at the end of this overtime game was 47-45.

Scorers for Oceanside were Ashley Gardner 14, Caitlin Raye 4, Kalyn Grover 8, Alexis Davis 2, Lily
Vachon 2, Emily Gould 16 and Brianna Dugan with three points. Ashley Gardner and Emily Gould were the top scorers for the mariners.

Lincoln Academy scorers were Olivia York 4, Gabrielle Wajer 8, Leslie Sandefur 6, Danielle Pinkham 6, Alyx York 4, Kaitlyn Feltis 1, Brianna Genthner 6, and Taylor Oliver with 10 points.

It's safe to say both teams had a great, hard fought match up on Friday night.
