Thursday, January 23

“The Astonishing World of Stereo-Vision Photography,” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Roger Richmond will present his stunning 3-dimensional photographs, using two stereographic projectors and providing each member of the audience with 3D glasses for viewing the photographs. Richmond’s macro nature photographs are close-ups of insects and plant life and are simply eye-popping.

Deb Soule on “Planting and Preparing Medicines From Plants,” part of “Green Growing January,” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Soule is the founder and owner of Avena Botanicals in Rockport.

Thursday, January 30

“Financial Resources for Adult Learners” 6:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, offered by Linda Buckmaster of Women, Work and Community. The program is free and open to adults of all ages and backgrounds; includes information on Family Development Accounts, a fund-matching program. Saturday, February 1

Winterfest, Camden’s annual celebration of Winter, in the Camden Amphitheatre, noon to 3:00 pm, featuring ice carving, snow sculpting, family fun, hot food, music indoors and out, and kids crafts indoors, hosted by the Camden Public Library, and sponsored by The First. This year there will also be “CamJam” snowboarding and skiing in Harbor Park.

Sunday, February 2

“CamJam” 12:00 to 3:00 pm in Camden Harbor Park, freestyle snowboarding and skiing preliminary competition, and family snowman-making competition, hosted by Camden Snow Bowl. Part of Camden Winterfest Week. Rail jam elements will be open to all skiers snowboarders; helmets required (under 18 need parents signature). Freestyle finals will be Friday, February 7, at the Snow Bowl as part of Toboggan Nationals weekend.

Thursday, February 6

“Songswap” at the Camden Public Library, 6:30-8:30 pm. Songswap is an informal song-circle format. Bring a song or two, a friend or two, and an instrument or two. Call Ken Gross at the library for more information, 236-3440. The library offers live music in one form or another on the first Thursday of the month.
