PORTLAND HOLIDAY TRASH AND RECYCLING COLLECTION FOR CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR'S DAY

Portland, Maine - City Sanitation crews will not collect trash or recycling on Christmas Day or New Year's Day. This season, both holidays fall on Wednesday. Therefore, residents with Wednesday collection will have pick up on the previous Saturday.

For clarification:

Christmas Day, December 25th, 2013 collection will take place on Saturday, December 21st, 2013. New Year's Day, January 1st, 2014 collection will take place on Saturday, December 28th, 2013.

Please remember to have your recycling curbside by 6:30 am on your collection day.

Island Residents collection schedule has NOT changed.

Residents of Peaks Island, Great Diamond Island, Little Diamond Island and Cliff Island will have their recycling and trash collection on Monday each week, unless the holiday falls on a Monday, then collection will take place on the Tuesday following the holiday.

The Riverside Recycling Facility Transfer Station will close at 12 noon on Christmas Eve and will remain closed for a full day on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Riverside will resume normal business hours on the Thursday, following each holiday.
