Lewiston, Maine - The Portland Pirates will host their annual New Year’s Eve game on December 31st when they take on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. The game has a special 5:30 start time – get to the game early and get a noisemaker, courtesy of the Pirates!
This year’s display is the 19th year that the Pirates will host the New Year’s Eve game and indoor fireworks display, and the first time it will be hosted at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston. The show will be put on by Pyrotecnico Special Effects and Lasers.
The game will feature the first meeting between the Sound Tigers and the Pirates this season, and the first meeting ever at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. Following the game, the Pirates will host the largest indoor fireworks display in Maine! The show will be the first of its kind at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee and will feature special lighting effects, music, special fireworks, and more! The display will start 15 minutes following the conclusion of the game.
“Our New Year’s Eve game is one of the highlights of the season, and we’re thrilled that Pyrotecnico Special Effects and Lasers will be putting on this year’s show, “said Pirates Chief Operating Officer Alex Romanoff. “We’re looking forward to bringing this 19 year tradition to the Lewiston-Auburn to help ring in the New Year.”
