The Maine Development Foundation is pleased to announce that Lorain K. Francis has accepted the position of Senior Program Director for the Maine Downtown Center. Lorain served for five years as founding Executive Director/Main Street Manager at Rockland Main Street, Inc. A former small business owner, community collaborator and corporate sales representative, Lorain’s unique experience provides the precise combination of leadership skills and passion for the position needed to further the mission of the Maine Downtown Center. A native of Fairport, New York, Lorain was a successful small business owner and served for many years to spearhead the Fairport Village Partnership and as President of the Fairport Merchant’s Association. She is a graduate of both the MidCoast Leadership Academy and Upsilon class of Leadership Maine. She also brings Chamber of Commerce experience to the position. “I look forward to continuing the legacy of strengthening communities through the many partnerships and local Main Street programs associated with the Maine Downtown Center,” Lorain stated.
