Pink Power Mom™ Selects Jenifer Lloyd as 2013 Honoree Mom‏

Hampden, Maine - In its seventh annual contest, The Pink Power Mom program has named Jenifer Lloyd as a 2013 Pink Power Mom.  Lloyd joins seven other women who were selected for persevering through their battles with breast cancer and for their continuous inspiration to their family, friends and other survivors. This year’s submissions hit milestones from new states and demographics from across the nation. These eight women stood out among nearly 300 nominees for their dedication, commitment and individual efforts in the fight against breast cancer.  The Pink Power Mom network continues to seek new individuals each year to add to the compassionate strength of this team of women.

Lloyd was selected because of her compassionate outreach to newly diagnosed cancer patients throughout her state.

Lloyd was nominated for this award by her daughter, who calls her mother “Hero. Champion. Powerhouse. Advocate.”.  During her own fight with Stage llb, Her2+ breast cancer, Lloyd lent support and guidance to her fellow chemotherapy patients.  Seeing the need for assistance growing in the community, she embarked a fundraising profession.  Lloyd works as a project manager for Eastern Maine Medical Center Foundation, specifically with EMMC Champion the Cure Challenge, an event that has raised more than $1 million for local cancer research since 2010.

Incredibly focused on her mission, Lloyd has become a well-known advocate for cancer patients throughout central, eastern, and northern Maine.

Lloyd will be honored with all of the 2013 Pink Power Moms during the Pink & Powerful weekend celebration in Atlanta, hosted by Kids II, in February 2014. For more information, visit pinkpowermom.org.
