What: This afternoon, the City of Portland along with the Friends of Eastern Promenade will officially break ground for the Fort Allen Park Rehabilitation project. Today, crews will begin the project by clearing the area for construction. Streets lights will be replaced and utilities will be relocated underground as well as the inclusion of historic landscape elements bringing Olmsted’s vision of the park back to life. The project is funded in part by Capital Improvement Plan and Community Development Block Grant funds and is expected to be complete by midsummer 2014.When: Thursday, October 2, 2013
