Thomaston, Maine - The Thomaston Public Library will host mystery/crime writers Lea Wait and Kate Flora on Tuesday, September 10, at 7 PM, in the main room of the library. Wait and Flora will discuss crime and mystery writing and the writing and publishing processes in general. Both will have copies of their books available for purchase.
Lea Wait, of Edgecomb, writes carefully-researched historical novels for children set in 19th Century Wiscasset and is well known for her Shadows Antique Prints mystery series. An antiques dealer herself, Ms. Wait's newest entry in the Antique Prints series is Shadows on a Cape Cod Wedding, featuring her
beloved main character, Maggie Summer, who deals in antique prints herself when not interrupted by urgent calls to sleuth.
Kate Flora, of Harpswell, is the author of many mysteries, thrillers, and true-crime books, including several in the Thea Kozak series. Thea, not a professional private eye, is "a savvy young businesswoman whose keen insights - and hard-won wisdom - help her penetrate the darkest secrets of the human heart." Redemption, Ms. Flora's newest book in the Joe Burgess police-procedural series, just won the Maine Literary Award for 2012 crime fiction.
