Blue Hill, Maine - Blue Hill Public Library will be hosting a “Meet the Author” series for children and all who love children’s books on four Saturdays at 10:30 AM starting September 28th. The series will feature local children’s authors reading from their books. On September 28th Deer Isle author Cherie Mason will read her book, Wild Fox, and talk about what inspired her to write it.
When Wild Fox first came out two decades ago, it won the Lupine Award and many other honors and starred reviews. Smithsonian Magazine called it "the outstanding natural history title of the year." And from School Library Journal, "A story of kindness, sensitivity and respect." Thousands of children and adults have fallen under the spell of this gallant little fox. Now, this classic has been reissued so that a whole new generation of readers can become captivated by this true story. Books will be available for sale and signing.
Other events in this series include Brooklin author Kim Ridley and East Blue Hill artist Rebekah Raye launching their new book, The Secret Pool on October 5th; Castine author Ellen Potter reading from one of the many chapter books she has written for kids on October 19th; and Blue Hill author Kelly Cunnane reading from her new book Deep in the Sahara on October 26th. There will be no event on October 12th. For further information, please call Pat at 374-5515.
