An informative look at ticks, the bacteria Borrelia burgdorferi which causes Lyme disease, the incidence of Lyme disease in Maine, the difficulties of medical diagnosis, and steps you can take to protect yourself and your family.

“Is Journalism Failing Its Role in Democracy?” with senior reporters John Christie and Naomi Schalit of the non-partisan Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting (MCPIR), 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library.

“The Schweitzer Hospital – Then and Now (1913-2013),” an illustrated talk by Patti Marxsen and Dr. Hans-Peter Müller, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, on the centennial of the famous hospital founded by Albert Schweitzer in what was then French Equatorial Africa.

Steve Huyler’s “Overland Tales: A Nineteen Year Old’s Adventures On The Way To India in 1971,” an illustrated talk by the Camden photographer, author, and anthropologist, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library.
